This Privacy Policy explains how GMC Sync ("GMC Sync", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when a merchant installs and uses the GMC Sync application (the "App") on their Shopify store. GMC Sync is operated by Intulon. GMC Sync is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC or Shopify Inc.

1. Information we access and collect

To provide the App's functionality, we access the following through Shopify's APIs, with the merchant's authorization:

  • Store & product data — products, variants, prices, inventory availability, images, identifiers (SKU, barcode), and shipping/delivery profile configuration. Used to build and publish product and shipping data to Google Merchant Center.
  • Shipping rate samples — to determine accurate shipping costs, the App requests rate calculations for representative items to sample destinations. This may include Shopify "protected customer data" fields required by the rate-calculation API (a placeholder email and address are supplied for sampling; no real customer identity is used, and results are used only to compute shipping estimates).
  • Store and account identifiers — your Shopify store domain, app installation and subscription status, and settings you configure in the App.
  • Google account authorization — when you connect Google, we store an OAuth refresh token and your chosen Merchant Center account ID so the App can publish on your behalf. We do not receive your Google password.

We do not collect or store the personal data of your customers. The App's purpose is catalog, pricing, availability, and shipping data — not customer records, orders, or payment information.

2. How we use information

  • To publish accurate shipping rates, product listings, availability, and product feeds to your Google Merchant Center account.
  • To sample and audit shipping and pricing so published estimates match your live checkout.
  • To run scheduled syncs, show sync progress and history, and enforce plan limits.
  • To provide support and to operate, secure, and improve the App.

3. Sharing with third parties

We share data only as needed to provide the App:

  • Google Merchant Center / Google APIs — product, pricing, availability, and shipping data you choose to publish is sent to your own Google Merchant Center account via the Google Merchant API, using the authorization you grant. Google's use of that data is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.
  • Infrastructure providers — we host the App on reputable cloud infrastructure (e.g. DigitalOcean) used to run and store the App's operational data.

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising purposes.

4. Data retention

We retain the operational data described above for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, we delete or de-identify store data associated with your installation within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. You can request earlier deletion at any time (see Contact).

5. GDPR & CCPA compliance

We honor Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks: customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact. Because the App does not store customer personal data, customer data requests and redaction requests generally return no customer records; a shop redaction request triggers deletion of that store's data from our systems.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access tokens and secrets are stored securely and used only to perform the actions you authorize. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and promptly address issues.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated within the App.
